Good food, prices & service. Portions larger sized but delicious. Step back in time for this historical place to eat!

Very slow service. Took over one hour for a breakfast/lunch at 11:30 when we were seated. Food was good.

We've known Miss Patty for over 30 years. Great friend and one heck of a restaurant owner. Best kept secret in town. Filled only with local folks and delicious home cooked breakfast and lunches. Stop on in and join us for a bite to eat. Love, Doug and Deanna.

I drove all the way from Texas just to wat breakfast there! Best biscuits and gravy in the world. My wife had the chicken fried steak, the best one she has ever had. Highly recommend the Train Station Coffee Shop!

I want to thank the Train 🚉 Station for being so kind and patient with all the PG&E customers who lost their food at home during the big power outage. They were very busy and had a ton of hungry residents to contend with. About the second day we heard that people were getting agitated and becoming a little harder to deal with. But the servers remained committed to being there even though they too had lost power at their homes. We are El Dorado County Strong and we will not accept these power outages as The New Normal.

Great breakfast diner experience. Very bustling, but friendly staff and delicious food. A real Shingle Springs gem.

Local spot with delicious and generous portions of classic American cafe food. Huge menu with plenty of options. Orange juice was especially tasty. Coffee smelled great, I just dont drink much of it.

Exceptional and flavorful food, I liked the atmosphere the place has, and the workers were nice. I will definitely eat here again.

it was open and I had one neal that lasted me the entire day. pleasant drive to the foothills east of Sacramento. open 6 to 2. omelet was HUGE AND there was even raisin toast!!!

Okay food, meh atmosphere.

The employees are nice, the chicken vegetable soup had too much spicy broth-to-solids ratio, and the fries were mediocre.More than that, the place is dirty. The owners need to hire a cleaning company once a month to do a deep clean: window sills, walls, the dirty bathroom, and that sticky bathroom floor. This is not your servers' job!!

We ordered the apple cinnamon french toast and biscuits and gravy. Fork for scale, but the photo still doesn't do the size justice. It's a lot of food. While it was tasty food, if I'm being honest, it was something I could make at home, seemed pretty simple (just canned apple pie apples on the usual french toast). This whole order was about $22, so a pretty good price.I also ordered half hot chocolate, half coffee. Usually when you ask for that sort of thing, they do just that, mix hot cocoa and coffee. But I suspect they just poured a full cup of coffee and mixed cocoa mix into it. Too bitter for me, not what I asked for, but I understand it's an unusual request so I can't blame them.All in all, cute place, homey atmosphere, tasty food just nothing too complicated (and maybe that's a plus for other people)

It's a nice quaint diner... Its dated, however most all of the locals go there for breakfast and lunch. They have a giant menu, you can get everything that will satisfy your palate.

It is a cute and awesome Restaurant. They give a huge portion on your plate so if you a small plate eater ask for a half. Bisques and gravy is big but delicious. 😁

Best place to get sausage gravy. I love the omelets and my husband gets the benedicts! Every. Single. Time. Don't mess with perfection.

Not great... not bad... very “homey” food.

Went there with my brother. I had biscuits and gravy with hash browns. Not bad but kinda pricey $11.99. my brother ordered an ommlet when he got it it was raw runny eggs inside. He sent it back, they brought it back out and still running. They asked if they should make it again. He said no he had lost his appetite.I probably won't go back cause I don't live in the area. My brother said he will never go back.

The place was very busy and the food was ok for typical diner food. However, dingy interior, dead flies on the window sill and served coffee in a dirty cup with lipstick on the rim was not acceptable...giving us a dirty feeling...how was the kitchen being run?? Have no plans to return.

They lost our ticket and left us sitting for over 30 minutes. People that came in after us seated right next to us were getting their food while we were ignored. We finally asked and they just acted like it was not a big deal. They offered to move our order to the front but not once apologized. We walked out and told them not to bother.

This place was awesome. Best service and nicest servers ever!! The best food. We decided it would be an awesome drive to go there and eat. I had the California Omelet and it was way more than I could eat. Cooked perfect. Wish I lived closer though.

Yummly, Decent Portions Except Biscuits Coulda BeeN more for the Price. Flavors On Point EVERYTHING Cooked Correctly. Got 2 Breakfasts To Go. Was very Pleased! Was still Piping hot when i Got Back to the room!! As Ordered We Will Be Back!

The food here was very filling and was also relatively on the cheaper side. I have been here a few times now with friends and have not had any complaints about this location.If you are hungry and in the area you should definitely give this restuarant a try if you are in the mood for something new, you won't be disappointed.

Poor service that day but very friendly staff unique environment food always good! It was kinda busy parking is good wheelchair accessible very clean I have been several times and the owner is very sweet. If you want local food might be a wait but well worth it. If you share a plate it will cost you $2.00 to split it (stupid) but everything else this place is a great stop for everyone young and old to enjoy a good ol fashioned meal!

Great breakfast and service! A quaint local cafe were lots of locals frequent which is a great sign of an awesome place to eat. If your traveling through on Highway 50 It’s easy access from the freeway for a great meal breakfast or lunch I really enjoyed myself and everyone was friendly and the service was wonderful!
